Our Favourite Paris Haute Couture Shows: Christian Dior

To be honest, we haven't been amazed by a Christian Dior show for a quite a

time. However, the S/S 2011 couture show exceeded all our expections and

confirmed the greatness that John Galliano is capable of.

Taking inspiration from the illustrations by René Gruau, an artist who became famous in the 1900s, John Galliano brought these drawings to life in his decadent interpretations.

Truly beautiful.

If there was one word to sum up Elie Saab, consistency would probably be it. Season after season the collections that Elie Saab has brought out have wowed us. The intricacy on every piece really shone through this season. A fresh pastel colour palette ushers in spring; perfect for the awards season.

Expect to see some of these amazing gowns on the red carpet.

Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad presented his Spring/Summer 2011 couture collection during Paris’ Fashion week at the Ritz Hotel. A collection that totally blew us away! A perfect mix of embellishment and luxury fabrics shows us a modern take on Middle Eastern glamour.

Black Swan star Mila Kunis looked gorgeous in an Alexander McQueen dress from the 2011 resort collection. Maybe Mila should have lost the belt and added a chunky necklace to improve but we still love it!

It was so refreshing to see someone in a bit of colour! Kim Kardashian looked like a goddess in a Marchesa number and Lorraine Schwartz jewelery. Stunning.

Our favourite gowns in white were Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta and a heavily pregnant Natalie Portman in a simple Azzaro gown accompanied by $2 million worth of Tiffany & Co. jewelry!

McQ cut prices!

McQ, the diffusion line from Alexander McQueen, is to drop prices of its autumn 11 collection by up to 30% in an attempt to appeal to a younger customer. McQ said dresses that previously retailed at £350 to £600 will now be priced between £125 to £495!
