Mulberry Introduces the 'Alexa' Bag

A long way Alexa Chung has come! From T4 to being named Vogue's best dressed celebrity of 2009 and now another accomplishment to add to her ever-growing list; a Mulberry bag named after her. ‘Inspired by and named after British style icon Alexa Chung, it reflects one of our major seasonal themes of schoolgirl naivety and effortless charm,’ say Mulberry. The bag is a twist on the classic and iconic Bayswater bag; a satchel style that slouches in all the right places, with a top flap that is a feature of the Bayswater.
The bag comes in a variety of colours and will be released on the 6th January 2010.
We want one!
The Alexa Bag will start from £695 while the Alexa clutch will start from £450.
Better start saving!

Marc's newest accessories collection is the cutest yet! Chiffon flowers, beads, tassles and pastel colours make these pieces unique, we can bet there will be next to no one with these in their closets.

fashion hint: visit Marc's Regent Street store in London for the special items you wont find anywhere else!

Givenchy 2010

Shot by the great Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the ads feature models Mariacarla Boscono and Natalia Vodianova looking fierce!
Not sure if we would wear the complete look, but definatley interesting as seperates.

Cover Of The Month: Scarlett Johansson For Harper's Bazaar

In this month's issue of Harper's Bazaar, Covergirl Scarlett Johansson talks with rock star Bono about their off-duty work in Africa saying 'You do gain a certain perspective when you see how people get by with so little and how they’re just happy to have simple things like a well with clean water nearby. I felt lucky just to live somewhere that has running water. Suddenly a toilet seems such a luxury. It’s miraculous! You really are thankful for the small things.' Dressed in (RED) products and high-end designers such as D&G, Yves Saint Laurent, Johansson echoes the retro glam vibe from the cover to the inside photos.
We salute you Scarlett!

The F Word's Hayley: My Look

For the schools christmas ball I chose a Thomas Wylde dress, Topshop belt , Jacobs by Marc Jacobs clutch (it was only £20!) and Miu Miu platforms.
Check out for The L Words Safina's Christmas Ball look soon!

The Fug Report: The Farmer Look

Really guys? This look was bad to begin with but it seems like the look is spreading all over the country. From the rich in Alderley Edge to the middle-classes in Cardiff, it seems like every one is loving this look. Although checked shirts can look good, personally we think they have been over-hyped, now selling in every high street store you can name our love for them is running low. And the Jack Wills Gilet, talk about mid-life crisis? We do like our leggings though IF they are paired with the right outfit, but with this one...no thanks! Last but not least..the Uggs. You know how we feel about these creatures.
Girls..just don't go there!
Moral of the Report: Farmer Giles is not a style icon!

Some Of The Things We Got For Christmas

Christmas was a truly memorable one this year with the food, the music and general festivity. But our favourite part of course was opening all those gifts! ( Shu Uemura eye pallete, backstage dior book, in vogue book, wildfox t-shirt, all saints leather jacket, monica vinader ring, marc by marc jacobs purse, house of harlow necklace and halston heritage dress )

Cover Story: Lady Gaga For Elle

Isn't it refreshing to see Gaga a little toned down lets say? In this issue of Elle, Lady Gaga sits down to talk about death, waitressing, her next album and her future saying “In eight to 10 years, I want to have babies for my dad to hold, grandkids," she admitted. "And I want to have a husband who loves and supports me, just the way anyone else does. I would never leave my career for a man right now, and I would never follow a man around.” Is anyone else pleasantly surprised?
Pick up your Elle issue for the full Lady Gaga Interview!

Reviewed: Beyonce - Heat Perfume

After being the face of perfume's by Tommy Hilfiger and Armani, Beyonce is set to release her own scent which will hit the US in February. Named 'Heat', the fragrance follows her 'Sasha Fierce' image with the tag line 'Catch the Fever'. With Beyonce's taste levels so high, admittedly we were a bit disappointed with the ad campaign and bottle, but we can't wait to smell it! The colour of the flacon and liquid is red - after Beyonce's favourite colour.
Check out the commercial shot by Single Ladies Director, Jake Nova.

Drake: Man Of The Moment

The beginning of Drakes career began in 2001 playing the role of Jimmy Brooks, a character on Degrassi: The Next Generation until the show cast new actors in early 2009. In February 2006, Drake released his first mixtape, room for improvement. It was made available via his website and official MySpace page. From the success of his first mixtape, he later began releasing more, capitalizing from the buzz.
In 2007, he released Comeback Season to much critical acclaim and praise. Which produced a single and a music video for Replacement Girl featuring Trey Songz. It also contained a freestyle over a song with Lil Wayne, a remix of the already popular song "Man of the Year" originally by Brisco and Flo-Rida. Also in 2007, Drake became the first unsigned Canadian rapper to have his music video featured on BET when his first single, "Replacement Girl" was featured as the "New Joint of the Day" on April 30, 2007.

On February 13, 2009, Drake released his third official mixtape, So Far Gone which recieved over 2000 downloads in the first 2 hours of release. On June 29, 2009 it was confirmed Drake signed a record deal with Young Money Entertainment. This followed what Billboard purported to be "one of the biggest bidding wars ever". He plans to release his official debut album, Thank Me Later, in 2010, and has confirmed collaborations with the likes of Kanye West, Jay-Z, Danny! and Lil Wayne which we can't wait for. And did we mention how hot Drake is?!

From Lookbook To Red Carpet

Personally, were in love with this dress. The floral bodice and feathers makes this Marchesa dress cute and sophisticated all at once, but we prefer the lookbook version. The tough platforms, scraped back hair and lace tights make it slightly edgier than Blakes version. Give us your thoughts from Twitter!

Reviewed: Si Lolita By Lolita Lempicka

The fragrance is unusual, whether or not its a good unusual is entirely up to you. When you first spray it on, a spicy scent is emitted. Personally, the smell reminds us of walking into an authentic spice market. Si Lolita is an Eau de Parfum, and is “meant to have an air of Parisian bohemian chic along with little girl whimsy”.

However the bottle is very girly sporting a cute 'four-leaf clover' style in the shape of gold-rimmed hearts. And we love the scarf on the neck of the perfume bottle! So cute!

Give us your thoughts.

Thomas Wylde: The Glam Grunge God

These floaty dresses and biker heels are all thye rage in America with the likes of boho girl Nicole Richie and Megan Fox describing the designer as creating the coolest clothes, pretty yet bad.
Although these dresses and boots range from £900-£1500, it is no doubt that these are investment pieces. The skull and snake details normally featuring on his designes are definatley a crowd stopper.

One To Watch: Ashley Olsen

Ashely has been in the spotlight since the mere age of 9 months, starring with her sister in Full House, two of a kind and other various DVD's, but The F Word have taken notice to Ashley not only for her business mind, but also her incredible fashion sense. In 2007 Forbes ranked the twins as the eleventh-richest women in entertainment, with an estimated net worth of over $100 million each after becoming CEO's of Dualstar Entertainment. On more of a fashion note, Ashley and her sister have their clothing label The Row, a high-end fashion line inspired by London's Savile Row. Ashley and sister Mary-Kate continued their expansion in the fashion industry with the Fall '07 launch of Elizabeth & James, their contemporary collection inspired by many of their unique vintage finds and pieces in their personal wardrobes. Her 'grunge-glam' look has been copied all over the continent, from 'raggedy' scarfs, to unfitted jumpers. It is clear she can pull of any look which girls like us crave to copy!

One To Watch: Alexander Wang

Known for his edgy, structural tailored designs, Alexander Wang has excelled in the industry. Born and raised in San Francisco, Wang moved to New York at the age of 18 where he attended the Parsons School of Design, designing his first collection by 2005. He later branched out into accessories and is now working on a menswear collection. Alexander Wang received the Vogue/CFDA fund this year which embedded his talent for designing.
Now dressing some of the most famous celebrities, Wang has proved himself with the collections he produces. He is most definitely a one to watch.

The Fug Report: Ugg Boots

Wherever you go, your bound to see a pair of uggs on a helpless soul. Seen in every place no matter what the weather is, Ugg-lovers seem to think they go with every single outfit. 'Ugg boot haters' have likened these boots to a foot cast, Eskimo-wear and having tree trunks as feet. Nice. The only plus point we can give to these boring, un-individual boots is that they are comfy. But then again, designers have enabled us to be fashionnable and comfortable....sadly, uggs don't fulfil both criterias. Shame.
These boots could be seen as the cousin of those infamous crocs as they are just as unattractive and plain, plus they scream Katie Price.
Moral of the fug report post - wear footwear that compliments you. Be orginial and individual.

Make-Up Trend: Get Lippy

For the last few seasons, the bold lip has taken the backseat while eyeshadow and 'the smokey eye' look entertained on the catwalk teamed with neutral lips...but the bold lip is back in time for the festive season with a range of colours to suit every skin tone. Ruby for the fair skinned, pinks for olive skin tones and reds for rich, dark colours.
To wear this look remember not to overpower your face with too many colours. Keep it simple with your eyes by adding just mascara (possibly eye liner) to achieve a more effective, striking look.
Get experimenting!

Trend Alert: (Faux) Fur Jackets

Seen on the catwalks and now on the arm of some of the most stylish celebrities, fur has truly taken off this season with the high street producing their take on the trend.

Cover Wars: December '09

The magazines are out - trying to get you to buy their last issue of the year and they have pulled out the stops for the festive month.
Harper's Bazaar (far left) features the sun-kissed Victoria Beckham on their cover. And doesn't she look editoral. Vogue, however (above centre) have gone for a vibe of romance in their cover debuting a fabulous show-stopping dress from Dior Haute Couture . Vogue have dubbed the Dutch model, Lara Stone as 'girl of the year'.
Lily Allen graces the December/January cover of Nylon (far right) bringing her own 'quirkiness' to the cover. We bet she has a lot to say.
InStyle has chosen Hollywood beauty, Thandie Newton to star on this month's cover. This is one of our favourites as Newton looks so graceful sporting the crisp one-shoulder (trend alert!) Roland Mouret dress.
